Little Rock police arrest teen in lingerie shop, gas station robberies

Police on Thursday jailed a 19-year-old man accused in two November robberies on the same street: one at a gas station and another at a lingerie shop.

Officer Richard Hilgeman, a spokesman for Little Rock police, said Robert Zachary Kinlow Hunt was arrested in both robberies late last week. He faces two counts each of aggravated robbery and property theft.

He was booked into the Pulaski County jail at 10:13 a.m. Thursday and is being held on $50,000 bond.

Hunt is accused of walking into Cupid’s Lingerie at 9700 N. Rodney Parham Road on Nov. 26 around 2:20 p.m. and demanding a box of “whips-its” and cash, Arkansas Online previously reported. Police said he fled the scene after an employee handed him cash.

“Whip-its” are nitrous oxide canisters that can be used as an inhalant but are usually employed to make whipped cream

Three days later, police said Hunt showed a clerk a small knife at the Shell station at 10100 Rodney Parham Road a little after 7 p.m. and told her to hand over cash, Arkansas Online reported. He took the money and then fled north.

In both robberies, police said, Hunt referenced a 30-second time limit, and the two businesses are less than half a mile apart. Hunt also lives in an apartment complex that’s less than 1 mile from the gas station, according to jail records.

He’s scheduled to appear in court Feb. 8.

In Conservative India, This Startup Hawks Edible Body Paint and Lingerie

The Indian e-commerce startup That’s Personal touts financial metrics venture capitalists typically salivate over: a consistent doubling of annual sales, gross margins exceeding 50 percent, low customer acquisition costs and strong repeat traffic. Yet not a single big-name investor has bitten.

That’s Personal sells adult productsâ€"edible body paints, slinky lingerie, erotic board gamesâ€"to Indians who, like many people the world over, prefer to keep such purchases private. Founder Samir Saraiya is betting that gradually liberalizing attitudes toward sex will spark a boom in so-called sexual wellness products.

But more than two millennia after the publication of the Kamasutra sex manual, much of Indian society remains prudish. As a result, Saraiya is struggling to persuade skittish venture firms to plow $5 million into his three-year-old company. Investors say the regulatory environment is uncertain and fear Indian officials will shut down That's Personal if it runs afoul of conservatives. This is a nation, after all, where even dating apps have been forced to tread carefully.

Rajiv Sahney, who runs the India offices of New Vernon Capital, participated in an angel round 18 months ago that raised $1 million but says getting others to pony up will be a challenge. "There are people in India with a view on what India is and what India should be," he says. Even potential backers who deem the online adult segment a winner have been deaf to Saraiya's entreaties. “Will this category do well?" asks Nikhil Khattau, managing director at the India unit of Silicon Valley venture firm Mayfield. "Sure! Is it investible? Difficult to say."

Saraiya remains undaunted, schlepping to venture firm offices with a bag full of his merchandise. "Investors need to be educated on what this category is all about, what is a cream, what is a lubricant and what is the product range we stock," he says.

When Saraiya quit running Microsoft's Southeast Asia business development office in 2011 to join India's e-commerce revolution, he never contemplated selling Fifty Shades of Grey merchandise. But Saraiya quickly discovered that every big e-commerce segment already featured a dozen or more players. Inspiration struck unexpectedly: Too mortified to buy condoms in the store opposite his apartment building, Saraiya trudged to a distant neighborhood where no one knew him. He was certain at least a few hundred million of his compatriots faced the same predicament.

“That was it,” he recalls. "I decided to solve my own problem."

Saraiya roped in two of his Microsoft buddies as angel investors and jumped into what he calls "discreet e-commerce." Let others tout convenience, price and choice. Saraiya would sell privacy: “Buy from me and nobody will know.”

His first stop was a lawyer’s office to get clarity on the rules. “While it is illegal to import and sell ‘quote unquote obscene’ products in India, the rules dealing with obscenity make no reference to adult products, the lawyer told me.” To keep officials off their backs, all the merchandise would all have to conform to a statute forbidding any form of nudity on the packaging. The lawyer liked the concept so much that he jumped in as co-founder. Thatspersonal.com launched in January 2013.

Saraiya’s biggest dilemma was still to come: how to break the news to friends and relatives? At a family gathering, his wife’s kinâ€"conservative Jains who abhor alcohol, espouse extreme vegetarianism and practice ahima (non violence)â€"teased him about sourcing "Jain" adult products for them. He solved the problem partially by calling the company Digital E-life and printed only that name on his business card. “My children are 4 and 9 and when someone asks them what does your father do, they innocently say he runs Digital E-life.”

The startup’s 15-person team works out of a tiny office in Chembur, an industrial and retailing hub in eastern Mumbai. Saraiya initially wondered how his staff would explain their line of work to their families. “But they seemed to have no problem whatsoever," he says. By contrast, Saraiya had to break the news to his family "very gently," despite the fact that his sister and mother are both gynecologists.

The country’s changing demographics have worked to his advantage. Nearly three-quarters of India's 1.3 billion citizens are under the age of 45â€"many of them digitally savvy and willing to try new things. Shoppers from India’s biggest metropolises as well as smaller towns began snapping up the wares. Today, more than 40 percent of the buyers are women. One of the most popular products is women’s intimate shaving cream. "In India people glare at a woman if she smokes," Saraiya says. "Can you imagine a woman walking into a store and asking for this cream?"

Advertising has been a challenge because strict rules govern what you can show online. Google users must turn off their "safe search" option to view the ads. Facebook bans words like "massager" and "vibrator." India's customs officials pose another hurdle. When a consignment of edible paint arrives, officers are perplexed: Is it paint? Is it chocolate? “We have to explain each product to officials levying the import duties,” Saraiya says.

Inevitably, a handful of thriving copycats have entered the market. That's Personal says it has stayed ahead with a broad range of merchandise and exclusive deals with big manufacturers. The company also has made an art of discretion. To thwart prying relatives or domestic helpers, packages are unmarked and the invoices cagily euphemistic: racy lingerie is "one-piece apparel;" massage cream a "one-piece novelty item." Customers who live with their parents or extended families have asked That's Personal to relabel the actual products. Saraiya is considering such a service for an extra fee.

The prudence appeals to buyers like Nayha Mehta, a Mumbai businesswoman, who used to trek to a distant drugstore to buy even tampons. When a friend mentioned That’s Personal, Mehta found the shopping liberating. On her 40th birthday earlier this year, she gifted herself massage oils, mood candles and naughty games. She won't share her complete shopping list because "people will judge me." But she intends to get more adventurous.

Saraiya is counting on customers like Mehta to spread the word and boost his business which is just hitting $1 million in gross sales."One day soonâ€"who knows it could be next yearâ€"it will be the right place and the right time for this kind of e-commerce in India."

Heidi Klum Intimates Lingerie Mantra Of ‘More Boobs, Less Bra’

Heidi Klum has revealed her thoughts and feelings about posing in the nude. The model claims that she is quite comfortable posing in the nude.

Klum also has a lingerie mantra, which states “more boobs, less bra.” She still has a lot of passion for lingerie and she talks about it in a cover interview for the latest installment of Ocean Drive magazine. During the interview, the model talked about how she likes going nude and her preferences when it comes to selecting a good set of lingerie. Despite confessing her love for posing while nude, she still admitted that she faced some insecurity along the way.

“I grew up going to nude beaches with my parents, so I’m a nudist. I have no problems with nudity at all. I’m very free. When I go to the beach, it’s in a very remote place where there are not a lot of people, and I like to go topless,” Klum revealed.

Despite her preference for going all natural, Klum stated that her modeling career at Victoria’s Secret taught her a few things about what makes the best innerwear. Though her days of walking the runway are behind her, she still enjoys photo shoots where she is wearing lingerie. The 43-year-old model has been spotted topless while on vacation with her boyfriend Vito Schnabel.

“Everyone should do what they want to do, [even if it’s] thigh-high stockings and a garter belt that shows a little bit when you sit at the dinner table,” the German supermodel added.

Klum further pointed out that she does not believe that it is vulgar and that she feels comfortable even if someone sees her nipples. She believes that it is not vulgar though some people feel that it is. Klum has also been known for going topless and she openly claims that the best lingerie is supposed to celebrate whatever is underneath. She also claims that she loves natural shape and hates pushup bras. She believes that having breasts pushed up almost to the neck is old fashioned.

Klum pointed out that there was a need to come up with something different for ladies who have many pushup bras but prefer having no inner lining. She uses her mantra of “more boobs, less bra” to motivate her design team so they can come up with more desirable inner wear.

The German model also explained that she went through self-doubt at some point during her career. She started out as a regular girl from a small town where she was not well known. One she started making appearances on magazine covers, people started to notice. Going to places like restaurants would be hectic for her because people would point fingers saying that she was not as beautiful as she looked in the magazine. Fortunately, she learned how to overcome the negativity and embrace her beautiful body.

Klum also pointed out some other things that she went through during her career, including being told that she was too feminine or that she was too curvy and should be skinnier. Her jovial mood was also criticized when she was told that she was too happy all the time. Despite all she went through, she explained that she did not let the negativity pull her down. She decided that she would remain committed and satisfied with the way she looked and if the critics did not like her the way she was, then she would be doing the wrong job.

Heidi Klum stated that the advice she gave was for professional lingerie wearers as well as rookies. Klum believes that her tips about lingerie will help young ladies to feel better about their bodies and accept themselves the way they are.

Heidi Klum Poses for the Cover of Ocean Drive Magazine

It’s the end of November, which means while the rest of us slowly begin to recover from the post-Thanksgiving Day bloat, the Victoria’s Secret girls are busy taking Paris by storm. And while OG Angel Heidi Klum won’t be amongst the lingerie-clad ladies bringing the longstanding runway show abroad this year, the model has never lost her love of strutting around in next to nothing. In fact, in her latest cover interview for >Ocean Drive magazine, Klum discusses her preference for nudity, what she looks for in a good set of lingerie, and confesses that even though she poses in the buff professionally that doesn’t mean she hasn’t had her fair share of insecurities.

In her interview with writer Carla Torres, the Heidi Klum Intimates designer talks about her clothing-optional upbringing saying, “I grew up going to nude beaches with my parents, so I’m a nudist. I have no problems with nudity at all. I’m very free. When I go to the beach, it’s in a very remote place where there are not a lot of people, and I like to go topless.” But although she’d prefer to go au naturel, Klum’s days spent modeling for VS still taught her a thing or two about what makes a great pair of underwear. But when it comes to what’s sexy in the underpinnings department, she insists, “Everyone should do what they want to do, [even if it’s] thigh-high stockings and a garter belt that shows a little bit when you sit at the dinner table.” She continued, “I don’t think that’s vulgar. I feel comfortable and don’t care if someone sees my nipples necessarily â€" it’s okay to see the nipple! But not everyone feels comfortable with that.”

>RELATED PHOTOS: TMI … Too Much Instagram!

And given her penchant for going topless, it should come as no surprise that for Klum the best lingerie is all about celebrating whatever you’ve got. “I love a natural shape,” she says, “I don’t love big push-up bras and boobs right under your neck! That was yesterday. I thought we need to do something different for the super sexy girls who have lots of push-up bras but also love no lining inside, where it’s all lace. My whole slogan, what I tell my design team, is always ‘more boobs, less bra.'”

Though Klum obviously has a ton of confidence, posing in front of all those cameras in just her underwear, that doesn’t mean she hasn’t still experienced some self-doubt. She tells the magazine, “When you’re a normal girl from a small town and no one really takes note of you, and then all of a sudden you’re walking down a catwalk in your lingerie and on the cover of Sports Illustrated and all these people are turning their heads when you go into a restaurant and pointing their finger at you saying, ‘She’s not as pretty in person as she is in photos,’ you get a little insecure. You always get judged, so you have to learn how to handle that.”

The model has also been told, “That I’m too curvy. Too feminine. I got that a lot. That I should be skinnier. And that I’m not edgy enough and a little too happy half of the time. Everyone was always telling me maybe I should skip a meal or I should go on these [diet] pills.” But Heidi doesn’t let the haters get her down, adding, “I just always stuck to my guns and thought either they want me the way I am or this is not the right job for me.” Good advice for both professional lingerie wearers and novices alike.
