Little Rock lingerie shop robbed of cash, gas canisters used to make whipped cream

An assailant stole nitrous oxide canisters and cash from a Little Rock lingerie shop Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Officers arrived at Cupid's Lingerie at 9700 N. Rodney Parham Road around 2:20 p.m. and spoke with an employee who said an unknown man had robbed the store, officer Brittany Godfrey wrote in a report.

The employee told the officers a black man wearing a black hoodie and khaki pants came into the store and was "bouncing up and down" and yelled, "30 seconds! 30 seconds!"

The man demanded a box of "whip-its" and the charger, the employee said. "Whip-its" are nitrous oxide canisters that can be used to make whipped cream or as an inhalant.

He also demanded cash from the register and then fled from the store after the employee handed him an undisclosed amount of money, she told police.

Officers were notified of the incident and searched the area, Godfrey wrote. No suspect was identified on the report.

The robber was said to stand around 5 feet 8 inches tall and weigh about 135 pounds.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Lingerie Store Robbed for Third Time this Year

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -

One Little Rock lingerie store hit three times in three months and now some employees believe the same person may be responsible, even dropping some on to the floor as he walked out.

Tucked away at the far end of the Galleria Shopping Center sits Cupid's Lingerie.

Despite it's location in a crowded plaza - it was the third robbery since August. "He's coming around the corner, opening the door."

Michael Karpowicz - a manager at the location on Rodney Parham- says the suspect came in through the front entrance holding a knife - headed towards the register - and demanded cash from a female employee. "There wasn't enough money in there so he wanted to steal more and ended up telling her to get out whipped cream canisters," he says.

Karpowicz says the suspect was not able to get away with a lot of cash "We've put in security cameras, door locks, cameras, we've put in all sorts of stuff," he says.

From surveillance footage - he believes it may be the same person responsible for the other robberies."Same mask, same build, the first two times it was the exact same outfit," he says.

Karpowicz says now his employees are scared to come to work in fear this bandit may strike again."We've done a lot of things so employees will feel safer," he says. "So dropping cash and not having any money in the drawer would deter someone from doing it, but it still seems to be happening."

Little Rock police arrest teen in lingerie shop, gas station robberies

Police on Thursday jailed a 19-year-old man accused in two November robberies on the same street: one at a gas station and another at a lingerie shop.

Officer Richard Hilgeman, a spokesman for Little Rock police, said Robert Zachary Kinlow Hunt was arrested in both robberies late last week. He faces two counts each of aggravated robbery and property theft.

He was booked into the Pulaski County jail at 10:13 a.m. Thursday and is being held on $50,000 bond.

Hunt is accused of walking into Cupid’s Lingerie at 9700 N. Rodney Parham Road on Nov. 26 around 2:20 p.m. and demanding a box of “whips-its” and cash, Arkansas Online previously reported. Police said he fled the scene after an employee handed him cash.

Three days later, police said Hunt showed a clerk a small knife at the Shell station at 10100 Rodney Parham Road a little after 7 p.m. and told her to hand over cash, Arkansas Online reported. He took the money and then fled north.

In both robberies, police said, Hunt referenced a 30-second time limit, and the two businesses are less than half a mile apart. Hunt also lives in an apartment complex that’s less than 1 mile from the gas station, according to jail records.

He’s scheduled to appear in court Feb. 8.
