Little Rock police arrest teen in lingerie shop, gas station robberies

Police on Thursday jailed a 19-year-old man accused in two November robberies on the same street: one at a gas station and another at a lingerie shop.

Officer Richard Hilgeman, a spokesman for Little Rock police, said Robert Zachary Kinlow Hunt was arrested in both robberies late last week. He faces two counts each of aggravated robbery and property theft.

He was booked into the Pulaski County jail at 10:13 a.m. Thursday and is being held on $50,000 bond.

Hunt is accused of walking into Cupid’s Lingerie at 9700 N. Rodney Parham Road on Nov. 26 around 2:20 p.m. and demanding a box of “whips-its” and cash, Arkansas Online previously reported. Police said he fled the scene after an employee handed him cash.

“Whip-its” are nitrous oxide canisters that can be used as an inhalant but are usually employed to make whipped cream

Three days later, police said Hunt showed a clerk a small knife at the Shell station at 10100 Rodney Parham Road a little after 7 p.m. and told her to hand over cash, Arkansas Online reported. He took the money and then fled north.

In both robberies, police said, Hunt referenced a 30-second time limit, and the two businesses are less than half a mile apart. Hunt also lives in an apartment complex that’s less than 1 mile from the gas station, according to jail records.

He’s scheduled to appear in court Feb. 8.

Victoria's Secret accused by Cosmopolitan of making 'racist lingerie'

Victoria’s Secret is taking friendly fire from a leading women’s magazine for allegedly showcasing “racist” underwear at the Grand Palais in Paris this week.

Cosmopolitan published an op-ed on Wednesday blasting the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for “cultural appropriation” by “a sexist, patriarchal, mostly white corporation [that] continues to take what it wants for its own gain.” Themes and garments inspired by countries like China and Mexico were particularly galling to writer Helin Jung.

“Stripping of cultures aside, the emblems that stood out most were the ones that came from Asia â€" specifically China. The dragon that Elsa Hosk wore wrapped around her body, the embroidered stiletto boots seen on Adriana Lima, the tail made of flames worn by Kendall Jenner,” Ms. Jung reported in a piece titled, “Why Can’t Victoria’s Secret Stop Designing Racist Lingerie?”

“There’s a lot of talk of China as a dominant world power of the 21st century, and the U.S. government, Hollywood, and now Victoria’s Secret, it seems, are pivoting to face a new reality,” the writer continued. “But the Orientalism on display here doesn’t show an understanding or an attempt at dialogue. It doesn’t close any gaps. What condescension, for Victoria’s Secret to think that by wrapping a model in a dragon, it could connect directly with a new consumer in China.”

The author added that “hoodwinked” individuals consider the pageantry innocuous.

“The brand and its creative leads shamelessly cherry-picked imagery, breaking apart aesthetic references from wherever they wanted and stitching them back together again. They’re telling us its worldliness. It’s not, it’s a hack job,” the writer said.

Men and women around the world will be able to judge for themselves on Dec. 5 if Victoria’s Secret sells “racist” underwear. Footage from the event will air in 190 countries around the world. Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus. blog comments powered by "

Survey asks Japanese women for the details of their “showdown lingerie”

ss-1

When you’ve got a big day ahead of you, sometimes a little fashion-based boost can make all the difference.

One of the phrases you won’t find in a textbook for learners of Japanese is shoubu shitagi. Sure, a thorough text will cover shoubu, meaning “to challenge,”or “have a showdown,” and shitagi, the Japanese word for “underwear,” but their meaning when combined is something that most formal courses skip right over.

Shoubu shitagi is usually used in talking about lingerie, and refers to a matched bra and panties a woman wears when she wants to feel especially confident or otherwise powerful during an important event. In a recent poll by Japanese lingerie company >Wacoal, 31.7 percent of the respondents (out of a total pool of 1,100 women between the ages of 20 and 49) said that they have shoubu shitagi they wear for romantic dates. 51 percent of those surveyed also said they own a pair of shoubu shitagi for other occasions when they want a mental boost.

20-somethings reported the highest instance of wearing shoubu shitagi in the workplace, something that 48.3 percent said they’ve done to psych themselves up for a crucial meeting or critical project. Among work classifications, those employed in administrative roles had the highest rate of shoubu shitagi use, at 58.5 percent of those polled.

Researchers also noted a difference in shoubu shitagi preferences depending on purpose. While the same hues ended up as the three most popular for both romantic and business shobu shitagi, pink was the top choice among those wearing the special lingerie for a date, followed by black in second place and white in third. On the other hand, black was the number-one pick for workplace shoubu shitagi, trailed by pink, and then, once again in third place, white.

Love Island's Katie Salmon flaunts curves in sheer catsuit at lingerie launch in London

She's never been one to shy away from flaunting her figure.

And Katie Salmon was up to her old tricks once more as she slipped into a skintight sheer latex catsuit as she arrived at the Prodigal Fox lingerie launch party at cafe De Paris in London on Saturday.

The Love Island star, 20, sported the daring printed figure-hugging number which featured a plunging neckline to her naval with silk ribbon lace-up detail in the midst of her ample cleavage as she debut her new bleach blonde tresses.

Leaving little to the imagination, Katie's halterneck one-piece teased at her assets as she placed nipple pasties over her bosoms to protect her modesty as she flashed her black underwear while posing for photos.

She proved the phrase 'if you got it, flaunt it' in the jumpsuit that clung to her curves and pert derriere as she strutted to the venue.

Cutting the evening chill, the beauty - who shot to fame on ITV2's Love Island this year - draped an edgy studded leather jacket over her shoulders which featured a number of kooky badges on it as she held her nude clutch in her manicured hand.

Katie injected height into her petite frame as she adorned her feet with a sky-high pointed pump while sashaying into the venue with her team of equally scantily clad gals.

Debuting her newly blonde locks, Katie worked her waist long tresses into a centre parting, teasing her locks into a straight style as they cascaded down her shoulders.

Surrounded by her lingerie clad pals, the stunner went for a full on glam beauty look with a heavy dusting of blush and slick of lipgloss across her plump pout.

The reality star opened last month about a horrific ordeal that was left her bloodied and unconscious after a stranger spiked her drink with a date rape drug.

She described her terrifying ordeal, which she believes to be at the hands of a fan she met at a West London nightclub, who plied her with drinks.

Police believe Katie took liquid ecstasy (GHB) and she reported that she had been robbed but not raped, in an account given to The Sun newspaper on Thursday.

Describing her exchange with a man she calls 'Dan,' she explained that the Love Island fan introduced himself, asked for selfies and began pouring her drinks.

She said: 'My friends told me that he spent the rest of the night following me around, trying to give me drinks and even waiting outside the toilet for me.'

The model has no recollection of the rest of the evening, but her last memory was from inside the nightclub bathrooms where she says she was 'feeling really weird'.

Katie then woke up outside a hotel covered in blood with cuts and bruises but no sign of her phone or handbag, three hours after leaving the nightclub with the man.

Goldie locks: Debuting her newly blonde locks, Katie worked her waist long tresses into a centre parting, teasing her locks into a straight style as they cascaded down her shoulders

She continued: 'I was crying hysterically and really shook up, I was so confused and had no idea what happened, all I knew was that I needed the police.'

The police believe the offender used a drug common on the London nightlife scene, GHB, which can send victims off to sleep.

Police were unable to test for traces and therefore closed their investigations, while the nightclub were unable to release CCTV footage, Katie says.
