Supermodels are known to not get out of bed for less $10,000 but this singer will hope right back in bed to celebrate her cosmetics line.

And that is exactly what Mariah Carey did in New York on Saturday night.

The 46-year-old shunned clothes in favour of something a little silkier for the launch of herÂ M.A.C Cosmetics Mariah Carey Beauty Icon Launch at Baccarat Hotel.

Mimi celebrated the release of her long awaited line with the cosmetics giant by inviting beauty insiders to jump in bed with her.

It was a strictly boudoir wear only dress code for the luxurious and a little cheeky affair.

Of course being lover of barely there opulent lingerie, the lady of the hour was all too happy to dress to the occasion.

For the launch the Mariah's World star's line, she donned a very tight silk lace-trimmed off-white teddy which featured a plunging neckline.

But it seems now that she has gone public with her relationship with toy boy backup dancer beau Bryan Tanaka she is willing to do without the expensive accessory.Â

Mariah - who has previously released a lipstick with M.A.C - now has a whole collection out just in time for the holidays.

The Mariah Carey Beauty Icon range features brushes, eye shadow palletes, a liquid-powder highlighter, false eyelashes, lip glosses, lipsticks, lip pencils, eyeliner, body powder and blush shades.

The collection is available online first, starting December 8, and hits stores the following week.Â

It will be available until the end of January.Â

Lingerie exhibit reflects sensuality and women's emancipation

Miami â€" Â Apart from defining and highlighting the feminine form with sheerness and lace, lingerie over the past century-and-a-half has reflected the social progress of women, who are now much more independent and self-confident.

The "French Lingerie" exhibition starting Wednesday in Miami Beach will feature hundreds of ladies' undergarments, providing evidence that once liberated, literally, from the corsets that constrained them up until the 20th century, women are now using undergarments as an end in themselves and in unanticipated ways.

Up until the late 1980s, women generally selected their lingerie to please their partners, but since then they have grown in self-confidence, acquiring their own autonomy and selecting their lingerie for themselves, the curator of the exposition, Catherine Ormen, told EFE.

During a tour of the exhibit, with pieces ranging from burlesque to minimalist and made of modern fabrics along with the classic cotton and satin, the French fashion historian said that the advances in lingerie doubtless are a reflection of women's "emancipation."

Through the evolving styles of women's undergarments, the exhibition reveals that - quite apart from their original function of providing covering and better hygiene - women are now taking advantage of lingerie to model their figures, but above all to reaffirm them.

Ormen says that the exhibit - which is being held simultaneously with the huge Art Basel Miami Beach art fair opening on Thursday - is a mirror of the "history of femininity," especially the changes in women's morphology and image.

"French Lingerie" will run until Dec. 6 in the public spaces of the Sagamore Hotel, one of the pearls of Miami Beach's Art Deco district, and Ormen went into the archives of 11 prestigious French lingerie brands such as Aubade, Barbara and Lou to select the "treasures" on display.

Along with corsets, brassieres, bodices, garters, thongs and panties, the exposition also features works of art in seduction and eroticism by contemporary artists, including French comic artist Annie Goetzinger, drawings by Margot Van Huijkelon of The Netherlands and Japanese fashion photographs by Yoichiro Sato, among others.

Monday is the annual Victoriaâ€™s Secret Fashion Show, and proving that underwear is now over the top, Deco found an art exhibit that wants you to get intimate with intimates.

Itâ€™s Miami Art Week, and the Sagamore Hotel on South Beach is at the heart of the art.

Ronit Ben-Josef Neuman: â€œThe Sagamore has been part of the art world for the past 20 years.â€

Last night, the iconic hotel kicked off its Miami Art Week exhibit titled â€œFemme Fatale.â€

Ronit Ben-Josef Neuman: â€œItâ€™s an exhibit about women and the evolution of lingerie, art and women.â€

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there was lots to behold at the bash.

From sculptures to statues, graffiti to graphic design, â€œFemme Fataleâ€ showcases women, women artists and women in art.

Cece Feinberg: â€œItâ€™s about the female form and beauty and how to become more beautiful.â€

One of the highlights is all about undies. The â€œLingerie Francaiseâ€ exhibit uncovers unmentionables.

Cece Feinberg: â€œLingerie Francaise is a lingerie exhibition showcasing 150 years retrospective of French lingerie.â€

You can check out a hundred pieces of lingerie from a variety of French brands.

Cece Feinberg: â€œI think one of the most interesting pieces is a corset from the 1800s. Itâ€™s one of the oldest and most intricate pieces in the collection.â€

You can learn about the lingerie through videos, 3D holograms and the pieces on the walls and mannequins.

Cece Feinberg: â€œYou can do a self tour. You just bring your phone, download the app and do a QR code and then you can be walked through the entire collection by our curator.â€

Here youâ€™ll spot bras with buttons and some with bright colors.

Itâ€™s all about intimates.

Visitor: â€œI actually enjoy lingerie and I think itâ€™s something women can play around with and enjoy seeing different kinds of lingerie.â€

If you want to get briefed on briefs, head over to the Sagamore until Tuesday.

The exhibit is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. â€" and itâ€™s free â€" so you can spend your own money on your own lingerie.

It runs until Tuesday, December 6th.
